The E90 Series of Battery Energy Storage Systems from EPC Energy, may be the most advanced and most configurable BESS on the market today. These small outdoor 3-phase, 480V battery energy storage systems include built in PCS’ (power conversion systems) available in 30-kilowatt, 60-kilowatt or 90-kilowatt power ratings. Capacities range from 80 kWh’s (kilowatt-hours) to 266 kWh’s. PV DC input blocks are available in 45 kW, 90 kW and 135 kW blocks. Each 45-kilowatt PV DC block has 3 strings. PV DC inputs include MPPT tracking and rapid shutdown device compatibility. The E90 series of BESS’ come standard with a 200-amp automatic transfer switch (ATS), Eaton un-interruptible power supplies, grid-forming and grid-following modes, plus network & communication equipment; all in a NEMA 3R enclosure with optional coastal climate coatings. The enclosure has explosion controls, smoke detectors, heat detectors, gas detectors, fire alarms, HVAC, & optional water fire suppression systems. EPC Energy’s aiMacs energy management system (EMS) and microgrid controller are optional.
BESS Operation Modes
The E90 and aiMacs EMS can operate in time of use load shifting, demand charge management, energy arbitrage, resiliency (backup), PV self-consumption, and or microgrid modes. The E90 is UL listed, CEC listed, and SGIP approved.
